D&C Red 7 Ca Lake
In cosmetics and personal care products, Red 7 (D&C Red No. 7), and the lakes of these ingredients, are colors used in the formulation of blushers, face powders, lipstick and other makeup products, as well as cleansing products, mouthwashes and breath fresheners, nail polish and enamels, and skin care products.
Description: Color group: red (dye content 26%). Organic, FDA-approved, high-purity pigment. Insoluble but miscible in water & oils.

Properties: Provides superior color purity & saturation, oil soluble, water insoluble (but good dispersibility & no aggregate formation).
Use: Can be tinted with titanium dioxide to create light red/pink shades. For best results wet in oil before use. External use only.
Applications: Decorative cosmetic products including lipsticks, nail lacquers & face makeup (in USA prohibited for eye makeup), personal care products, soaps.
